Fiber Arts 🧶

THINK: anything related to knitting, crochet, felting, weaving!

• Fabric: all kinds! Our community especially wants fabric for garment-making, because it is harder to find around here!, felt

• Notions & Tools: sewing notions, thread (neatly rolled/stored), trim/binding, bias tape, zippers, buttons, pins/needles, pin cushions, fabric ribbon, velcro / hook & loop, elastic, leather, lace, vintage trims, seam rippers, scissors, rotary cutters, cutting boards, fabric dye and paint, patches and other embellishments

• Machines: sewing machines/other equipment (working order), mannequins/dress forms

Supplies for Planned Community Activities

• Metal jar lids (jam, drinks) - clean - need beginning of May. Any size.

Store Display Supplies

• metal shelving on wheels for displaying supplies, especially fabric (these are the dream!)

  • these shelves - 48 x 18

  • these shelves - 60 x 24

  • we would love to have 2 carts for moving supplies out of temporary storage for volunteers. We can split these in half to get shelving AND a cart (thanks for the inspiration, Eagle Mount Bozeman!)

• clear plastic totes and crates (all sizes) - for sorting and display - **especially low profile totes to help display folded fabric

• anything that looks like a caddy

• approx. 70' string of LED lights (white and color modes) for the front window - ours are not salvageable ☹️

Sorting and Stocking Supplies

• 1.5" painter's tape (easy to remove) - for measured fabric

• giant cutting mat with rulers for cutting fabric at events and preparing supplies

• scissors for cutting fabric

Admin Supplies

• paper shopping bags or gift bags with handles (used is great!!)

• reusable tote bags

• gift cards of any kind (Costco for shelving, food, office supplies, Main Print Shop, UPS Store for printing, etc)

• canned drinks to keep our volunteers hydrated, lunch and snacks to keep us all going

We'd love to share your supplies and tools in the context of projects you've made - while you are still crafting or after someone has passed.

We love hearing how crafters have found unique ways to use materials, and we love to share more about people’s collections and how they’ve learned to make things. We invite you to share what you know with community artists, teachers, and hobbyists - and we'd love to have you for an event or gathering, if you like! We have made kits with legacy collections and offered unfinished and finished projects with the supplies that made them.
